What is the difference between vertical and horizontal water ring pelletizers
1.  The length of the runner is different:
Vertical water ring granulator, the path through which the plastic passes is extruded horizontally by the extruder, after passing through the connecting body to the inside of the mold body, it turns downward at 90 degrees, and is extruded from the die surface after being diverted. The horizontal water ring pelletizer is extruded from the die surface after being extruded by the extruder. It can be seen from here that the horizontal runner can be made very short, while the vertical runner is relatively long.
2.  The output direction is different:
The vertical discharge direction is downward, while the horizontal discharge is horizontal.
3.  Different cutting tool holders:
The vertical granulating knife holder generally has two knives, and the horizontal granulating knife holder has two, three, and four knife holders.
4.  Pelletizing transmission bearing:
The vertical pelletizing drive bearing is designed on the upper part of the mold body, and the space is relatively large, so the bearing used is large. The horizontal pelletizing bearing is inside the water ring, and the bearing selected is small due to space constraints.

From the above points, the most significant difference between vertical and horizontal is that one runner is long and the other is short. As a plastic processing, some raw materials are easy to decompose, deteriorate or even carbonize due to long flow channels. Therefore, for some special raw materials with poor fluidity, it is more beneficial to choose horizontal water ring pelletizing for flow channels. For plastics with good fluidity and high melt index, considering the influence of gravity, it is more advantageous to choose a vertical water ring.
